Ethic Statement
Fottea welcomes submissions from all phycological researchers, regardless of biological, cultural, or political factors. We value transparency and seek to foster a collegial, collaboarative approach to scientific discovery.
Fottea agrees and adheres to basic principles of research and publishing ethics which are described in documents such as the Declaration of Helsinki, Nagoya Protocol of Access to Genetic Resources, Committee on Publication Ethics Core Practices, etc.
Fottea does not tolerate:
- any discrimination, harassment, or bullying
- any type of plagiarism, data or figure manipulation
- dual publication or dual submission
- failures to declare conflicts of interest
- infringement of copyright
- incorrect author attributions
Authors submitted manuscripts to Fottea:
- need to have all necessary permissions for field sampling (e.g., from protected or sensitive areas, protected animals in case of epizoon, adherence to the Nagoya Protocol etc.) relevant to national and international laws
- are responsible for having permission to reproduce material under copyright
- understand that on acceptance of a manuscript, copyright is transferred to the Fottea publisher
